I don’t think exs make things awkward at all. Seeing someone’s ex catches you off guard, of course. But you shouldn’t—more like it’s absolutely absurd—be jealous of them, as gorgeous and perfect as they may seem. When you see her the first thing you think about is why he let go of her in the first place—or why she let go of him. Obviously it’s not your place to assume. Then you lapse back into reality & give yourself a mental slap in the face because first off its foolish to dwell in the past and it’s foolish to judge someone on their past. And the fact that she has a another boyfriend now too makes you sound even crazier for thinking this way…Bumping into people from your past happens all the time. You just have to keep your head clear of all these nonsense thoughts and concentrate on the fact that you are with him now and he makes you ridiculously happy nothing in the world matters anymore. Nothing is awkward unless you make it. Just shake it off and laugh about it! And the most important part, even before you were in a relationship with your ex, you were their best friend and they were yours; please don’t lose a good friend just because you all are out of a relationship.
